Blog Feature Release – September Week 1

FieldInsight’s new features for the Week

To start this month of September, we’ve introduced a few handy features to FieldInsight to better help you optimise your business. Let’s take a look of all the features you can start using today!

Effortless Task Sharing with ‘Copy Share Link’ for To-Do Tasks

Collaboration is key in field management, and our new ‘Copy Share Link’ feature for To-Do tasks takes it to the next level. Now, you can easily copy the URL of any task and share it directly with team members. Simply open the task, click on the three dot icon, and select “Share Link” to copy the link to your clipboard. This feature is also available from the default list of To-Dos. It streamlines communication and ensures that everyone has direct access to the tasks at hand, fostering a more collaborative and efficient workflow.

Visualize Financials with Profit Report Color Enhancements

Understanding your financials is crucial for effective job management. We’ve enhanced the Profit Report with color coding to make data interpretation quicker and easier. Now, budgets are highlighted in blue, costs in red, invoiced numbers in green, and various projections are are shown as Insights marked by the colour Purple. By visually differentiating these financial metrics, this update helps managers quickly grasp the financial status of projects, aiding in more informed decision-making.

Streamlined Timesheet Management: Group Timesheets When Copying to Billable

Timesheet management just became more flexible with our latest update, allowing you to control how timesheets are grouped when copied to billable on the job page. This feature can be configured in “Settings > Business > Timesheets,” where you can choose between three options: “Grouping without Merging,” “With Merging,” and “No Grouping, No Merging.” These options provide you with the flexibility to handle timesheets according to your specific needs, whether you want to add all timesheets as new items or update existing job items. This update optimizes timesheet management, reducing errors and improving the accuracy of job costing.

Enhanced Flexibility with the Form Assignment Feature

We’ve introduced a new Form Assignment feature that allows you to complete forms on behalf of an employee. When you start a form from the form library, it is raised in a draft status, allowing you to edit and review before assigning it. Once the form status is changed to “Requested,” an email notification is triggered, and the form is assigned to the intended employee. This feature provides greater flexibility in form management, ensuring forms are accurately completed and reviewed before being sent out, which helps maintain high standards of compliance and record-keeping.

New System Field for Project Manager on Job Page

Keeping track of project responsibilities is now easier with the addition of the “Project Manager” field on the job page. This optional field can be enabled through “Settings > Work > Jobs >System Fields” and allows you to assign a project manager to specific jobs directly from the job page. This feature enhances job management by clearly defining responsibility, which is crucial for tracking project progress and accountability. You can also filter jobs by project manager, making it easier to find and manage jobs associated with specific team members.

Selective Data Management with Download Capability for Test Templates

Managing test templates is now more efficient with the new Download Selected capability. Located under “Assets > Test Templates,” this feature allows you to select specific tests you want to export by using checkboxes in the defect list page. You can choose to export only the selected tests, providing greater control over the data you manage and export. This update is particularly useful for handling large datasets, ensuring that you only export the data that is relevant to your current needs.
