Blog Feature Release – March Week 3

Fresh Off the Press: This Week’s FieldInsight Updates

Another week, another set of improvements in FieldInsight! We’ve rolled out fresh updates that make managing jobs, quotes, and workflows even smoother. Whether it’s better visibility on purchase orders or more control over job statuses, these new features are designed to save you time and effort. Let’s dive in!

Job Defect to Quote: Keep the Same Job Linked Automatically

In certain workflows, when creating a quote for defects raised, it can be useful to always link the new quote to the same job. By enabling a functionality located in Settings > Sales > Quotes > General and toggling the checkbox called ‘Link defect job to a document’ under the Defect section, the quote will be automatically linked to the same job when generated from defects.

Grand Total for Sales Items on Jobs

When working with jobs that have a large number of sales documents, it can be hard to get a clear understanding of the totals. We’ve added a row to all sales documents on the job page that provides total amounts for the documents. This makes it easier to assess costs at a glance, improving budget management and purchasing decisions.

Accept and Decline Buttons on the First Page of a Quote

You can now choose to display the Accept and Decline buttons on the first page of a quote, making it easier for customers to take action without scrolling through multiple pages. To configure this, go to Settings > Sales > Quotes > Templates and open a template. On the template configuration page, scroll to the Actions section and adjust the ‘Accept/Decline position’ field to suit your business needs

Placeholders Moved to a Popup Window

Configuring triggered messages was previously complicated if you needed to find placeholders, as you had to switch between views. Now, placeholders have been moved from the main page to a pop-up window that can be accessed while configuring a message. This allows you to quickly find and insert placeholders without leaving the message creation screen.

Filter Job Custom Fields by Workflow Status

It’s now easier to customise job fields by filtering them based on workflow status. This helps ensure that only relevant fields appear depending on where the job is in the process. To enable this, go to Settings > Work > Jobs > Custom Fields, then create or edit a field. In the settings, find ‘Set this field mandatory for scheduler’ and ‘Set this field mandatory for technician’. From there, select a workflow to see a list of statuses that you can apply.
